Being a blogger and having to be active on social media, I occasionally get hate. It’s unnecessary, and it can sometimes be very hurtful and detrimental to my mental health.

Unfortunately, there isn’t much I can do about bullying, because people are always going to be free to say whatever they want about me. Still, I can focus on advocating against bullying and find coping strategies.

If you ever experience bullying on the internet, try coping with these 4 recommendations:

There are some books that walk into your life that seem to change you forever. They change your perspective on things and help you see things in a different light. I love books like these types of books.

I read a lot of these books around the first time I ever experienced depression when I was 14. Everything felt strange and different. Books helped me relate and helped me escape from the negativities of my mind. They kind of just stuck with me ever since.

Here are 6 young adult fiction books that someone with depression might be able to relate to:

Panic attacks can knock the wind out of you. They are such physically and mentally draining experiences that are so difficult to explain to someone who’s never experienced them.

I’ve had way too many panic attacks in my life to count, especially in the past two years. I find so much advice on the internet on how to prevent a panic attack or how to deal with one as it’s happening. But I hardly ever see anything about how to recover in the moments after you have one.

The more intense your depression is, the more self-hate you feel. We have to turn the self-hatred around. You are meant to be here. You are meant to live your life to the absolute fullest.

Most days I hate my life. Most days I can’t stand who I am. But I don’t always hate myself. I relate this back to the self-love I captured around the time I came out of my first round of severe depression.

I might have off moments, off days, or off months, but I know I’m beautiful. And there’s absolutely nothing wrong with me knowing that I’m a beautiful person. Because self-love is so damn important.

Here are the 4 ways I practice self-love through depression:

I always knew my brain was a bully. My thoughts are racecars. They speed up and only slow down when they crash. I’m crashing every day before the finish line. Each day a new part of my car malfunctions. I can’t keep up. I can’t recover.

Probably the hardest part about trying to recover from my Pure Obsessional OCD is to not obsess about it (no pun intended), because that’ll only trigger my OCD even more.

One thing I’m learning is just how quickly my OCD symptoms make me incredibly agitated. You know like when you get a headache because you’re so angry? That’s what happens to me every day.

Here is a very basic layout of the obsessions and compulsions I have on a daily basis. I actually wrote these thoughts down as they directly came to me in the span of a couple minutes.
