We all have said things we didn’t mean. We’ve also all said something we didn’t know was hurtful. When you live with a mental illness, you’re more likely to pay attention to what others say.

There is so much stigma surrounding mental health and mental illnesses. Every single day I hear or see a new thing mentioning it. It’s like I can never escape.

Don’t get me wrong. I know I need therapy. In fact, I want to go to therapy. I think therapy is awesome

Every single person can benefit from it, because therapy isn’t just for people who are mentally ill. Everyone goes through things that they a hard time coping with. People should always find new ways to grow and improve themselves.

There’s still an incredible amount of stigma and misconceptions regarding all types of mental illnesses. Every mental illness is difficult, and it should never be a competition for who has is it worse.

It took me a very long time to get the point where I understood and accepted my mental illnesses. I’m still on the road to recovery, but I’m growing and learning about myself every day.

I always knew my brain was a bully. My thoughts are racecars. They speed up and only slow down when they crash. I’m crashing every day before the finish line. Each day a new part of my car malfunctions. I can’t keep up. I can’t recover.

Probably the hardest part about trying to recover from my Pure Obsessional OCD is to not obsess about it (no pun intended), because that’ll only trigger my OCD even more.

One thing I’m learning is just how quickly my OCD symptoms make me incredibly agitated. You know like when you get a headache because you’re so angry? That’s what happens to me every day.

Here is a very basic layout of the obsessions and compulsions I have on a daily basis. I actually wrote these thoughts down as they directly came to me in the span of a couple minutes.
