That’s why I highly recommend giving someone the entire Harry Potter film collection. The movies are long, magical, and there’s a lot of them to help someone through their bad times.

No matter whose house I’m at, I’m always under a blanket. I just feel so protected whenever I have a big, cozy cover on top of me.

I’ve heard weighted blankets provide many benefits, but you can also give a blanket that is funny and unique to their personality. I absolutely love this mermaid blanket my boyfriend got me. I wear it all the time, and it genuinely cheers me up so much.

3. TEA BAGS

I know not everyone likes tea, but I truly believe in the benefits of tea. Honestly, drinking tea has changed my life in so many positive ways.

Chamomile is probably the most comforting teas out there. It is said to relieve symptoms of depression, such as restlessness and insomnia.

4. DISNEY SOUNDTRACKS

Disney makes me feel like a kid again, especially when I sing along to all the songs from the Disney Classics. I own all the Disney Greatest volumes, and they are some of my absolute favorite CDs. Try giving a couple of them as a present and see how much their face lights up.

Buying a couple of Disney movies should also do the trick. I honestly feel like you can’t go wrong with Disney.

5. COLORING BOOKS

Coloring books are all the craze when it comes to trying to remedy some symptoms of anxiety. Coloring is so relaxing, especially if you put on some soothing music.

Just breathe into the designs in front of you and focus on staying in the lines. In no time, you’ll start to feel yourself zone out and forget about the problems going on in your head.

Dollar Tree has both kid and adult coloring books. They also sell colored pencils, crayons, and colored markers.

6. CANDLES


Watching the flicker of a candle is very soothing. Just the smell alone can reduce stress. Aromatherapy can also increase feelings of contentment and help us relax.

There are tons of scents, brands, and sizes you can choose from. Different scents have different benefits. Anything with lavender is natural relaxer.

7. FIDGET CUBE

A fidget cube is the perfect sensory object, because it’s an instant stress reliever. It’s a great distraction, and it gives you something to do and something else to focus on.

Let’s not forget how satisfying it is to pop bubble wrap, which is infinitely included in a fidget cube. I could pop some every day if no one got annoyed by it.

If I could wear fuzzy socks all day, every day I would. I honestly have too many pairs to count, but I’m always open to getting more of them. They are so comforting, and they bring me so much joy. Fuzzy socks truly are one of my very best friends.

If you know someone doesn’t like fuzzy socks, you can also give them warm slippers or various character socks. Life is too short to wear boring socks.

I practically live in my pajamas. Actually, I probably only get dressed a couple times a week, so any new pair I get is always a good thing.

I love wearing matching pajama sets or even getting in my big footie pajamas. The more personalized pajamas you give, the more love someone will feel.

Another great option would be to give loungewear, like sweatpants and oversized hoodies. Comfort is key for those with depression!
